The Winnipeg Humane Society’s Farm Animal Compassion Committee presents a free public lecture by Twyla Francois titled Art and Activism.

Francois has been a farmed animal cruelty investigator for over a decade with her work being the focus of numerous documentaries. Her investigations have benefited farm animals by leading to the closure of facilities, animal cruelty charges and convictions, corporate animal welfare policy reforms, government-commissioned research, and rescuing of abused and neglected farm animals. Francois’ work has opened the hearts and minds of millions to the power of their food choices to help create a kinder world.

Francois recognizes that graphic imagery of farmed animals will not reach everyone. She prefers to use art that seeks to raise awareness on the plight of today’s farmed animals in a more gentle, but equally compelling way.
