The first step in raising a well-mannered, educated dog is puppy socialization. This class gives young dogs a chance to socialize and learn good behaviour at a critical time in their lives.
Pups will spend off-leash time playing with other puppies while learning how to behave with other dogs. You’ll help your puppy develop important skills such as listening during distractions, inhibiting play-bites, and feeling comfortable when humans handle their food, teeth and bodies. This class is for puppies up to 4 months old at the start of classes.
Classes are approximately 60 minutes in length, run for 6 continual weeks, and are held in the WHS Classroom.
We encourage all family members to attend. Children will benefit by being included and learning how to interact and manage behaviour of their new puppy. Puppies benefit by having the children in class so they can socialize with different ages and sizes of children and learn to accept leadership of children.

Puppy Socials are the perfect opportunity for extra socialization for your puppy in a safe, supervised, and clean environment. Giving lots of opportunity for your puppy to socialize with other dogs and people is absolutely critical at this age and it is the most important thing you can do to ensure your puppy grows up friendly and well-adjusted.
Off-leash play with other puppies is one of the best ways to help your puppy learn and practice effective dog to dog communication, which serves them well later in life! Knowledgeable staff and volunteers will monitor the play groups and Behaviour staff will be available to answer questions you may have about your new puppy.
Socials are for puppies up to 5 months old.
