James Needs Help!
James was picked up on a recent northern community rescue mission by Dr. Gina Bowen and the WHS team.
He was found hobbling around on what appeared to be an injured front right leg. Our team found out from the owner that James was hit by a car over a year ago and hadn’t been using his leg since. The owner agreed to surrender James to the WHS so we could bring him back to the clinic and repair his leg.
After further evaluation by the clinic staff it was determined that the right front leg needed to be amputated. The injury had been left untreated for so long that the damage was not repairable.
James is now recovering from his surgery in a foster home and working on some behaviour issues. Understandably, James is a very nervous dog that is hesitant to approach humans. He loves treats, but when you try to pet him or put a leash on him he flinches and moves away. His time in foster will help him learn how to move with one less leg and start to gain some confidence when it comes to dealing with people and other dogs.
Please help us raise the necessary funds to cover James’ surgery and allow our clinic to continue to save lives everyday.
