Paws in Motion logoWINNIPEG – The Fairmont Winnipeg Paws in Motion is on Sunday, June 22! The Winnipeg Humane Society is encouraging Winnipeg’s pet lovers and fitness enthusiasts to register for the walk or the brand new Super Hero Run to raise money for the animals. This is the tenth year the Fairmont Winnipeg is the event’s title sponsor.

“You’re already a super hero to your pet, so why not dress like one too?” said Christine Boult, WHS Director of Development. “The Fairmont Winnipeg Paws in Motion is such an exciting event, and it’s not just for dog owners – you can choose to walk or run with or without your dog. Thousands of dogs and their owners come out to walk together and support the thousands of animals The WHS helps per year.”

Participants can register online at winnipeghumanesociety.ca for the 3k Paws in Motion walk – which they can walk alone, with a group, with their dogs or without. Walkers can also opt to take the 1.5k short-cut. Brand new this year is the Super Hero run, presented by Petplan. Runners can choose from a 10k run, 5k, or 5k with their dog.

“The Fairmont Winnipeg has been a super hero to us for 10 years, it’s time for us all to dress up like superheroes and help animals in need,” said Boult. “You’re already a super hero to your pet, so why not dress like one too?”

The event features activities for all ages, including face painting and crafts for kids. Local music group The Ramblers will be rocking the Lyric Stage, and there will be tons of contests and prizes – for people and pets!

Can’t make the event? You can sign up as a virtual runner or walker and help support the more than 8,000 animals the shelter receives annually. Visit winnipeghumanesociety.ca for walk and run details, or call 204-982-2041.
