In 2016, The WHS took in 8,335 animals.┬áThe WHS loves every animal that enters the shelter doors. It is the WHS’s duty to do everything it can to protect, heal and nurture each animal.

Some of what we accomplished this year:

We took in 8,335 animals in 2016:

– 5,771 cats

– 1,697 dogs

– 867 other animals, including wildlife and small critters

The Winnipeg Humane Society helped 4,389 animals find their forever homes in 2016.

A total of 6,753 animals were spayed and neutered. It’s the most spay and neuter surgeries the WHS Clinic has performed in one year.

The WHS could not function without our more than 700 volunteers who contribute so much to the organization:

– 45,220 hours completed by volunteers in 2016, worth a total of $497,420.24.
