Broken bones, amputations and a new life: Octavian's Story
Octavian was found as a stray and brought to the WHS in December. His tail was hanging limp and he wasn’t able to use it. He also walked oddly on his back leg.
Both injuries were caused by old fractures that didn’t heal properly. He also needed extensive dental work. Octavian clearly had to push through pain to survive on his own.
In order for Octavian to live a pain-free life, he had his full tail amputated, his leg amputated, and most of his teeth removed.
Octavian’s surgeries and care cost just under $3,000. He is just ONE example of over 8,000 animals we care for each year. Every animal’s need varies and we do everything we can for them – no matter the cost. We do not give up on an animal.
We would not be able to save animals like Octavian without your support.
Please make a donation today and help us reach our goal of $40,000. All donations are being matched by seven generous donors, so your gift will make even more impact for an animal at the WHS. If we raise $40,000, that’s $80,000 to rescue animals!
This Saturday from 11AM-5PM, we will broadcast live from the WHS on Facebook Live (WHS Facebook page), Shaw TV Channel 9, QX104, and 94.3 The Drive. Please join us as we share stories of animals like Octavian, along with WHS volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to make sure every animal gets a second chance to live a happy and healthy life it deserves.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
