We have talked about several options for the next Black Dog Club walk and the one we’ve chosen for early next month will be a great opportunity to promote the adoption of black dogs. Don’t worry, we haven’t lost sight of having a walk at an off-leash park as so many of you requested and we're planning one for October. Here is the info for our next walk:
We have been invited to participate in the Family Dog Walk in support of the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC). Donations will be accepted on-site.
Who: WHS Black Dog Club members & prospective members
What: 5 km Family Dog Walk
When: Sunday, Sept. 9 – Registration tent opens @ 1:00pm, walk starts @ 1:30pm
Where: Westwin Community Centre (Bldg 33) Parking Lot – 642 Wihuri Rd.
For more information: Contact myself or
MCpl/Cplc Darren Burgess ext 5381 or Darren.Burgess@forces.gc.ca
Plan is as follows:
I will be stationed at the registration tent with my Black Dog Club sign just before 1pm. I will be signing up new members and handing out cards as usual (if you don’t have one yet). I have also enlisted the help of a couple of WHS volunteers to help promote the Black Dog Club to the other participants in the walk.
Anyone with a black dog is welcome to meet me at this event (see Black Dog Club rules and instructions).
