A first for Canada, meat and eggs certified by The Winnipeg Humane Society
are now available in Winnipeg.
This certification marks the first time Canadian consumers will be able to choose meat from animals raised according to standards approved by an animal-welfare organization.
Our standards include: no animal caging; minimum space requirements; no hormones or unnecessary antibiotics; and mandatory barn inspections by independent professionals.
The WHS Certification represents an exciting new partnership between Manitoba farmers and The Winnipeg Humane Society.
One of the perks of buying WHS Certified Meat is the ability to contact the farmer
raising the meat directly. At the moment we have two farmers certified to raise
