Agency

Please read through the following information if your client has a physical, mental or special disability that may affect their ability to perform his or her duties with The Winnipeg Humane Society.

Your client and his or her support staff must agree to a minimum of 80 hours of service in order to be considered for a placement.  Based on the individual’s abilities, the support staff will be asked to accompany the client throughout the entire process of volunteering, including attendance at the information session, the interview, training and during all volunteer shifts.  The role of support staff will be to provide direction, job coaching and assistance.

If your client will not benefit from an information session, the support staff must attend and be prepared to take on the responsibility of a volunteer position.  To maintain continuity, the same support staff must be at the interview and accompany the individual during his or her shift.

To discuss your client’s placement, please contact Volunteer Services at 982-2043.
